Obtain Grants

SARTA needs more local funding to match federal dollars for capital projects, while also reducing their reliance on grants to run daily operations.

More funding allows for SARTA to enhance services such as the potential to offer Sunday service and countywide public curb-to-curb service.

Replace an Aging Fleet

Some vehicles in SARTA's fleet are over 9 years old with more than 700,000 miles. They need more local dollars to work out a better replacement schedule that reduces the average miles and age of vehicles in their fleet.

Restore Services

SARTA needs more local funding to restore and expand service and to operate reliably despite fluctuating grant funding.

Our ask?

A levy for sales tax, still allowing Stark County to be one of the lowest in the state!

After reviewing community feedback, there is a HUGE need to improve service. This small levy increase allows us to do this without cutting existing services.
